Dogs five living in a animal shelter

This picture speaks for itself. I LOVE photographing dogs in groups. If YOU have some dogs and would like me to come there and photograph your group, or if you have friends whose dogs would like to get together for a group picture, email me at insect1@swbell.net

Lady Tiger beetle

This is a Tiger Beetle. You will notice that she has a broken part on our left. I had always wanted to photograph a tiger beetle looking into the camera, but normally they are not interested. This individual was resting on a low step in Central Missouri, where I was hanging out, JUST tripod height. I am very proud of this picture. It took me a long time to get it. IF you want to know how to get pictures like these, email me at insect1@swbell.net

I'm Lucy: A Day in the Life of a Young Bonobo

Our book, which came out in March, is a MUST buy. The text is cleverly written by Mathea Levine and Jane Goodall has written the Afterword for it.
Please contact out website: www.bonobokids.org to order the book.

Baby Sitting Sister

This is Johari , (who is about ten years old here),baby sitting for her brother Kaleb at the Jacksonville, Florida, Zoo. Johari still has remnants of her brunch in her right hand, but seems to have postponed eating it until sometime later. Kaleb, (who is about one and a half here), seems to have somewhere else he would rather be. But she is doing her job.
About a year after this picture was taken, Johari went to live at the Fort Worth, Texas, Zoo to hopefully start her own family with Kevin.

An Awesome mom

This mom was chased down by her older children hoping to nurse ONE LAST time. She did it but doesn't look happy about it, (at least to me she doesn't look happy). This picture is one of a series of "Women DO Multitask"
Contact me at insect1@swbell.net for comments. Or you can even buy the picture!

Lady Praying Mantis

This lovely svelt female praying mantis was photographed in my back yard in October, 2008. She is waiting for her mating partner. I never did see him though. There were a few snakes in the yard too and I am afraid of what might have happened to her.
You can buy this picture if you want to. Please email me at insect1@swbell.net. I also would love hearing from you.

Sheep in a row (with Sheep dog in the background)

My goal is always to show that individuals that are alive have a life!
It took me eight years to get this picture! I finally met the Riddle family, and they agreed to take the time to line up these five ewes (women sheep)with Rerun their wonderful sheep dog.
You can buy this picture from me if you wish. I will split the profits 50/50 with the Riddles.

Bonobos the 4th Great Ape

This is the family portrait of Lucy (in her mom's arms), and Lucy's big sister Lexi, on the left. Lorel (their mom) is in the center. They live in the Jacksonville, Florida, Zoo. Lucy is one year old here, Lorel is 36 and Lexi is five. I have been following Lucy and her family in photographs from the time she was one. Over time, here in this blog, you will see her and her family change.
